Students will.....
Respect others by using kind words and kind actions.
Be on time for class.
Be prepared for class.
Be engaged each day!!
I look forward to working together as a team this school year so that your child can reach their personal best. The expectations listed below are guidelines which will help your child have a successful school year.
1. Read with your child every night for at least 20-30 minutes. Talk to your child about the characters, setting, problems and solutions. Ask your child how they would feel if these events were happening to them. Please make this a priority each and every day.
2. Help your child with homework assignments. Homework will always be practice or review of a skill previously taught in the classroom. Therefore, homework is expected to be done by the student. If your child has difficulty with a problem it is okay to help; however, if your child does not understand the concept please indicate this in their agenda so that I can work with them to insure that they understand. There will be some questions the students will need to do some quick internet research on and you are certainly welcome to help out!
3. Check your child's agenda daily. Your third grader should bring his/her agenda to you along with a pen/pencil to be signed. They should also pack their own backpacks.
4. Make sure your child is prepared for school. Regular attendance and punctuality is essential for success! Backpacks, school supplies, breakfast, etc…
5. Communicate with me about your child. Writing quick notes on the agenda is an easy way to communicate with me on a daily basis. I will check my email daily, but may not be until my planning period.
6. Please notify me in advance if there will be any changes in how your child is to get home from school.
7. Attend conferences and meetings as necessary to communicate about the specific needs of your child.
8. Please insure that your contact information is up to date up with both the office and me in case of emergency. This is for the safety of your child.
